#2
RRockwell Kent, an American artist, writer, and public figure, combined the realistic method with romantic symbolism. His landscape “March” was painted during the spring of 1908 when the artist lived in Berkshire Hills. This is where he met Kathleen Whiting, who later became his wife. The master painted a number of landscapes with a view of Mount Greylock. The main motif of this painting is nature awakening.

Style of Kent’s landscapes
#4
In this early work, the specific style of Kent’s landscapes can be seen, which is structural and rational. Between the 1940s-1950s, the canvas probably underwent restoration by the artist, who added the image of two running horses.
