#3
The painting “Return of Hunters. Northern Greenland” was made during Kent’s second trip to Greenland in 1931-1932. He described it in his books “It’s Me, O Lord” and “Greenland Journal”.
#5
“Reservation” technique
#4
In this painting, the artist used the “reservation” technique: no hunters can be seen in this painting, as the viewing public takes on their role. Women and children approach the hunters with smiles. People and costumes are depicted with an almost photographic preciseness, while nature is shown in a generalized manner.

Landscape details
#7
Two origins and two ‘treasures’ perceived by the artist are combined in one painting: humanity, kindness, mutual support, and the brilliant and detached beauty of nature in the North. We could say that there are two sources of light in this landscape: the distant sun and people’s smiles in the center of the cold and ice.
