The permanent exhibition of the Murom History and Art Museum “Murom of the Past. The Town and Its People” was opened in 2014. It is devoted to the period from the late 17th to the early 20th century. The exhibition tells the visitors about everyday life of townspeople and their secular hobbies: musical evenings, amateur performances, collecting antiquities.
The visitors can get acquainted with a collection of merchants’ portraits painted in the 18th and 19th centuries, see chests with coins, boxes and small cases of the period from the 17th to the 19th century with antique jewelry, silverware and porcelain, a mirror with women’s accessories, as well as rare books, children’s games and toys, popular musical instruments and other authentic exhibits.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
