Isa Yasaev painted the picture In Dzheirakh Gorge in 2007. It was made by oil paints on canvas. The artist depicted a view of Dzheirakh Gorge in pre-dawn hours. The viewer is looking to peaks of the mountains as if from a high vantage point. Mountain ridge is enshrouded by dense fog, illuminated by morning sun. Haze rolls down and fills all space at foot of the mountain.

The author kept realism of time and place. He skillfully conveyed space, air and light air perspective. There are not any dynamic plot, eye-catching contrasts or unexpected details. The master gave vivacity to landscape using coloristic: smooth transitions of colours make viewer examine canvas carefully. Sky in the picture was executed with the finest tints from blue to white and pink. This decision partly resembles the work of Impressionists — artists exploiting this trend were painting light and air in separate strokes of pure color.

Dzheirakh Gorge is located in the mountainous part of Ingushetia and occupies the central part of Main Caucasus Range. In historian Ahmad Suleimanov’s opinion, the name of gorge is connected with the name of Arab commander Jerrah. It is believed that the warrior had paid attention to the favourable location of area and used it for frequent parking. Since then, the gorge has been called “place where army stood.” In the people it is often called Emerald of Ingushetia. In those places had been also passing The Great Silk Road.

Isa Yasaev is a Chechen artist, painter. The master works a lot in landscape genre. His artworks are differed by a deeply individual vision of the world, spiritual and moral fullness. Specialists of National Museum of the Chechen Republic had noted, that in his creativity he “was able to harmoniously combined national identity with fundamental canon of fine art”. Isa Yasaev permanently participates in republican, regional, zonal and All-Russian art exhibitions.
