The exposition presents the works by Russian, West European and Chechen artists from the 17th to the 21st centuries.

Western European paintings include the works by Peter van Bredal, Francesco Dzukkarelli, Heinrich von Angeli. Russian art of the 17th-19th centuries is represented by the works by Vasily Tropinin, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Pyotr Vereshchagin. Most of the paintings were under rubble during hostilities of 1994-1996. Specialists managed to save more than 100 paintings. They were evacuated to Moscow for restoration, and were later returned to Grozny.
An important part of the exposition is works of modern Chechen artists: Amandi Asukhanov, Said Bitsiraev, Vakhit Zauraev, Magomed Zakriev, Rustam Yakhikhanov, Ali Saparov.
The Soviet period is represented by the works of Valentin Mordovin, Georgy Satel, Heinrich Pavlovsky, Oleg Klyukin.
