In Flood in Paris we can almost feel the moisture-saturated atmosphere. The thick mist hides all the details. In the foreground, which is more or less distinct, we can see a moored laundry barge. By using very simple motifs, Albert Marquet renders scenes of a city life without haste and fills them with lyrical attitude and implicit nostalgia.
