The best poems and various texts in prose that Rozhdestvensky wrote in the forty years of his career are included in the book “Short poems, long poems, essays”. It also includes documentary prose — autobiography, essays, and articles. Poet’s friends and colleagues contributed as well by writing short essays and notes. In particular, the collection contains texts by writer Vasily Aksyonov, poet Bulat Okudzhava, literary critic Lev Anninsky and many others, who knew him during his life. His youngest daughter, Ksenia Rozhdestvenskaya, compiled the book; it was published in 2000, six years after his death.
