The mighty love of life was overwhelming, and joy was rarely replaced by disappointment. As a teenager he was absolutely delighted and amazed to see Levitan’s ‘March’ in person after having previously come across that same painting in his textbook. This fateful episode showed him his rightful path of becoming an artist. And never ever has the artist Vasily Losev had any doubts about this path.

The works of Vasily Losev — both paintings and graphics — are a mirror of their creator. They are delicate in feeling, restrained in temperament and clear in thought, which is probably close to every Russian person.

The artist Losev Sr. manages to find such incredible motifs in the nature of Central Russia and such human characters that awaken in the viewer’s heart love for his native land, the Fatherland, its heroes, famous and simple workers. Sincerity and professionalism (high skill!), they turn the viewer into an interlocutor, a grateful like-minded individual, while also making them a better person.
