Konstantin Fyodorovich Yuon was a painter and a noted stage designer. He was born in 1875 in Moscow. From 1892 to 1898, he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. After graduation, together with the artist Ivan Dudin, he opened his own private school — “Drawing and Painting Classes” — which was closed in 1917. Over 3,000 artists studied at this school. Among them were the muralist Vera Mukhina, the landscape painter Alexander Kuprin, the member of the “Jack of Diamonds” society Robert Falk, the graphic artist Vladimir Favorsky and other artists.
