The three-volume edition was published in Paris by the print firm of the printer and scholar Robert Estienne, who made a significant contribution to the development of printing. This edition is remarkable due to the harmony, balance and legibility of the texts. The typesetting is so masterful that it is reminiscent of the etymology of the word ‘text’, which comes from Latin textus — ‘fabric’ or ‘structure’.

As per Hebrew rules, the text is printed from right to left. The second volume includes the books of Joshua, Judges, Kings, Chronicles, Daniel, Ezra, and Nehemiah. The book of Daniel is printed twice (in the second and third volumes).
