The album contains images of different varieties of roses. Each illustration, created from nature, reproduces its source with photographic accuracy. This is a great joint work of the master of botanical illustration Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759—1840) and the botanist-naturalist, author of scientific comments on the images of flowers Claude Antoine Thory.
