Venerable Ferapont Belozersky (in the world — Theodore Poskochin, ca. 1335–1426) — a monk of the Simonov monastery in Moscow, a friend and rival of St. Cyril of Belozersk, founder of Ferapontov Belozersky (1398) and Ferapontov Luzhetsk (1408) monasteries in honor of the Nativity of the Virgin. Memory is celebrated on June 9 and January 9 in a new style.

The Monk Cyril of Novozersk († 1532) is a monk of the Korniliev-Komelsky monastery near Vologda, the monk of Venerable Kornilii Komelsky (pupil of Cyril Belozersky), the founder of the Cyril-Novoezersky Resurrection Monastery (1517). Memory is celebrated on February 17 and July 7 in a new style.

General information:
The images of the most venerated devotees in the monastery are on the pillars of the Dormition Cathedral. The tradition of depicting saints on dome and vault supports comes from Byzantium, where it was customary during the erection of the temple, to build in the foundations, walls and pillars of the particles of holy relics that became the guarantee of the sanctity of the whole church building.
