Vladimir Kumashov has created a unique world: the city in his paintings is both mysterious and easily recognizable. His cityscapes feature the streets and squares full of people, animals, birds, as well as courtyards, old districts and new buildings. The works of Vladimir Kumashov have unusual points of view and plans. He often depicted the streets and houses from a bird’s eye view. The artist used bright colors, saturated color spots, thick texture of strokes.
“Opening of an Exhibition” comes from the series of paintings in which the artist depicted the Murmansk Regional Art Museum at different times of the year. In this work, Kumashov focused on the harmonious combination of autumn trees and cityscape.
