A bell is a metal percussive musical and signal instrument consisting of a hollow dome (a sound source) and a tongue suspended along the axis of the dome, which emits a sound when it hits the dome. The bell can hang or be fixed on a swinging base with the edges of the dome up; depending on the design, the sound is excited by swinging either the dome (more precisely, the base on which it is fixed) or the tongue. In Western Europe, the dome is more often rocked, in Russia — the tongue, which allows you to create extremely large bells (“Tsar Bell”). Usually the bells are cast from the so-called bell bronze, less often from iron, cast iron, silver, stone, terracotta and even glass.

Bells are widely used for religious purposes (calling believers to prayer, expressing solemn moments of worship).

In 1795, there was a beautiful church built of white brick, with a high bell tower and four gilded domes in the village of Boguchany, Yenisei province.The lingering ringing of the church bells could be heard at a great distance, up to the placer of the village of Geophysicists, and in calm weather, old-timers said that the bell ringing reached the village of Angarsky. For the residents of the village and surrounding villages, the church was a source of pride and joy. In 1795, it was consecrated for worship. The Peter and Paul Parish was created.

The bell is an exhibit from 1880 from the Church of Peter and Paul S. Boguchany, cast from a copper alloy, cone—shaped, hollow inside, with an oblong copper tongue on a wire. Manual casting.
