The Museum of Local History houses a military uniform of a pilot, Anatoly Anitsky: forage cap and field tunic of blue color. The sleeves of the jacket are decorated with gold patches, there are golden and blue epaulettes on the shoulders.

Anatoly Anitsky was born in the village of Zharkovka in 1921. He came to Anzhero-Sudzhensk in the 1930s after the call-up of the Komsomol “Komsomolets — to the plane!” to study at the city flying club. Then he transferred to the Novosibirsk Military Aviation School. In 1940, Anitsky passed his tests and underwent ground training, and in summer, the students were already allowed to perform actual flights.

Anitsky recalled how breathtaking it was to perform turns and stunts in the air:

Anitsky began to serve in the central part of the country. At first, he was sent for retraining to the 1st Ryazan Higher School of Navigators and Pilots of Long-Range Aviation. In 1942, he was enrolled as a commander of a Long-Range Bomber Crew of the 751st Aviation Regiment of the 17th Air Division of Long-Range Aviation of the USSR.

During the war, Anatoly Anitsky made 224 combat sorties, including 209 night flights. 26 sorties out of all were long-range: the pilot bombed Berlin and other enemy cities. In total, Anitsky spent 1,466 hours in the air, 1,340 hours of which were spent at night.

For Anatoly Anitsky the war ended on April 26, 1945: he was demobilized. He returned home with many government awards: the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Red Star, two Orders of the Great Patriotic War, 1st and 2nd classes. He was also awarded 19 medals.
