Hack is a tool used when cutting the resin of some coniferous trees (pine, larch, Siberian cedar) by making cuts on the trunk of a partially decimated tree (leaving about a millimeter layer of bark) with incisors installed in the tool.
Two special knives are mounted parallel to each other on a metal plate. Two rubber tubes with metal tips with holes are connected to the knives. The other ends of the tubes are connected to a blue plastic tee, to which a long rubber hose is attached during operation, coming out of the acid tank.
The hack happens: with two guides (a cutter is inserted into each (above the guide), each side has its own guide) for making slots one above the other (ascending podsochka) and with one guide (one cutter) for making slots one under the other (descending podsochka), in this case the guides are double and one cutter is placed between them.
The incisors are attached to a round handle, holding which, the uplifter (a worker who produces oleoresin) used the tool, making cuts on the trunk from the center of the bark ascending to the right and left, forming an “inverted herringbone.
Extraction of oleoresin is not an easy matter. The work is exclusively manual.
In the Boguchansky district, dairy production has been developed since 1956, when the Boguchansky Chemical Forestry was formed. Already in 1957, about 20 tons of oleoresin were extracted. The extraction of oleoresin was carried out during the summer growing season. The workers of the podsochniki lived in the built temporary shelters. In 1962, the Angarsk Chemical Forestry was formed, at which other chemical forestry enterprises began to be organized. In 1975, the Angarsk chemical forestry was reorganized into “Krasnoyarsk Chemical Industries”. In the mid-80s there were 18 chemical farms in the Angara region.
