A 4-string 23-fret stringed instrument. A pear-shaped body is made of wood, the neck and the body are decorated with mosaic set of yellow and white metal and wood.
Mosaic’s fragments form four large compositions: three rhombuses and one six-pointed star.
The instrument belongs to the beautiful collection of Persian (Iranian) instruments, which was donated to the Museum by a widow of Alexander III, Empress Maria Fyodorovna in 1907.
