In the Kirsanov Local History Museum there is a photograph of L. Boratynsky with a dedication inscription “To my godson Mikhail Andreevich Zaveryachev for a lasting memory from L. Boratynsky”. Lev Andreevich Boratynsky (1848–1907) was Moscow vice-governor (1890–1902), Active State Councillor (from 1899), nephew of the poet Y. Boratynsky. Mikhail Andreevich Zaveryachev was the son of the Boratynskys’ estate manager in the village of Ilyinovka, Kirsanov District; after his father’s death he became the estate manager himself.
Lev Andreevich’s father, Andrey Ilyich Boratynsky (1813–1889), served in the Hussar regiment, from 1846 — in the Moscow Palace Office, and in 1848 retired and moved with his young wife and newborn son Lev to the Tambov estate. The family lived in Ilyinovka for about ten years, and then, at the insistence of his wife’s elderly parents, the Boratynskys moved to the estate of Yamishchevo in Zvenigorod District near Moscow.
