A scattering of bells, which were attached to leather collars (harnesses) with whole garlands.
The collar was a bandage around the horse’s neck in the form of a waist belt, which was fastened from above.
Metal bells of semicircular shape, consisting of two soldered parts, are attached to a brown leather strip, in the center of the hole. The bells are ordinary, without a pattern, 34 pieces of different sizes. In the middle part of the collar there is a bell with petals in the form of a flower. A strip of black leather is sewn to a leather strip with bells with white strong threads. At one end of the collar is a white metal buckle with two spokes for fastening the collar on the horse’s neck.
A tambourine is a bell of spherical shape, inside of which a pellet was placed. Two criss-cross slits were made in the ball to make the sound louder. A tambourine compares favorably with a bell in that it sounds in any position, and the bell should hang freely with the tongue down. The device of the bell in the form of a hollow hollow ball did not allow, unlike an open bell, to extract a strong sound.
The largest tambourine was placed in the middle part of the collar, that is, directly under the horse’s neck. Above it, two identical smaller bells were symmetrically located, then a pair of even smaller ones, and so on. Sometimes, instead of a central bell, an undershirt (cattle breeding) or a so-called Siberian (step-shaped) bell could be attached. Bells of different types differed in numbers, but only in reverse order in comparison with bells: larger size — larger number.A scattering of bells, which were attached to leather collars (harnesses) with whole garlands.
