This exhibit is dedicated to the life and work of Kosta Khetagurov, an Ossetian poet, dramatist, publisher, ethnographer, artist, and public figure in the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The exhibit brings together numerous artifacts; documents and manuscripts, old paintings and rare photographs, letters and drawings, that help to trace the poet’s life and creative path from his first days to the last days of his life.
Visitors will learn where Kosta Khetagurov was born and how he studied language, literature, and painting, read his touching letters to his first love and manuscripts of poignant poems, see photos of Kosta Levanovich himself and his inner circle — the real Ossetian intelligentsia around the turn of the century.
