The “Portrait in Vintage Interior” exhibition is held at the Old Mansion — the department of the museum association. This building is an architectural monument of the 18th century. It was built in 1786 according to a standard design of a residential building. The exhibition was opened in 1998 after a large-scale restoration of the mansion.
The exhibits show how artistic styles changed in the interior of the late 18th — early 20th centuries. It includes Jacob-style furniture, antique porcelain and candlesticks, a needlework table in the Japanese lacquer technique. In addition, the halls of the mansion display paintings by artists of the 18th — 20th centuries: portraits of members of the royal family, paintings by Ivan Aivazovsky, Alexey Antropov, President of the Royal Academy of Arts of England Thomas Lawrence and many others.
