The Museum of Fine Arts is the owner of the most complete collection of the outstanding Mordovian sculptor Stepan Dmitrievich Erzia, after whom it is named.
The exhibition exposition dedicated to the master’s artwork features the most famous of his works, which glorified the small homeland of Erzia and himself. Stepan Dmitrievich is not only an outstanding artist, but also a bold experimenter who did not shy away from new styles, forms and materials.
Among the exhibits of the exhibition you can see the works of different years of the sculptor’s life, made of wood, stone and even brutal concrete, so unloved by other masters.
