The Nature of Udmurtia

Exhibits of ‘The Nature of Udmurtia’ include stuffed animals or birds rear for the region, like roller, European brown hare, river otter, white-tailed eagle and others. The regional flora is represented by herbaria of flowers, trees and shrubs. Some plants are used for medicinal purposes, while others are very poisonous.

The most ancient exhibits of the collection are remains of primeval animals — bison, elk and mammoth, as well as samples of sandstones with imprints of branches and stems of extinct plants. The age of these artefacts is over 13 thousand years, they were discovered in various regions of Udmurtia. These and other exhibits are displayed in the permanent collection of the Museum.
