Erzia Museum is the only art museum in Mordovia. It is significant above all for its monographic collections: the largest collections of works by the sculptor Stepan Erzia and the painter Fedot Sychkov.
Other interesting exhibitions present the work of leading artists of Russian, national, Mordovian and folk art.
The material and spiritual culture of the Mordovian ethnos is rich and original. Formed over several centuries, it accumulates the great power of artistic experience of previous generations and remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
The visual art of Mordovia with its characteristic features and individual approach is an independent phenomenon in the context of modern national culture. Spirituality and national identity underlie Mordovian fine arts. The dialogue of cultures, which flows into the flows of a single artistic stream, is its distinctive feature.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
