Pictures by A. Borisov, I. Vylka, D. Sveshnikov and other painters and explorers who captured the severe beauty of the Arctic and the Russian North are exhibited in the six rooms of the Museum of the Artistic Exploration of the Arctic named after A. Borisov. Five rooms dedicated to the life and work of Alexander Borisov, ‘the painter of the eternal ice’, form the core of the exhibition. In the last one, the Nenets Room, there are pictures by the first Nenets artist Ilya (Tyko) Vylka and a Soviet painter Dmitry Sveshnikov, as well as some examples of the Nenets applied art.
