Moise Kisling, born in Krakow, came to Paris in 1910. He quickly joined the group of young French avant-garde artists and became a notable figure in the School of Paris. Kisling was a highly sought-after portrait artist. His portrait art was strongly influenced by Amedeo Modigliani.
