The fresco presents the composition ‘The Apostles are connected by the union of love’ or ‘The Assembly of the Twelve Apostles’, which depicts the belt-like images of Jesus Christ, the Virgin, John the Baptist, and the disciples and preachers of Christ: Peter, Paul, John, James and others, framed by a grape vine.

Iconography became widespread in the art of Russia in the 15th — 17th centuries, it has similarities with the compositions ‘The Tree of Jesse’ and ‘The Vine of Christ’, illustrating the Gospel text ‘I am the True Vine’ (John 15: 1).
