A full-length image of Saint Kirill is depicted in the centerpiece. His right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing; in his left hand he is holding a scroll. Around the centerpiece there are 21 scenes from the life of the saint. They were painted according to the Life of St. Kirill Belozersky written by Pachomius the Serb in the second half of the 15th century.

The icon was restored by E.A. Dombrovskaya in the Central State Restoration Workshop in 1929-1929.

The original icon is kept in the State Russian Museum.
