Manet is represented in the museum by several portraits and a picture in the genre theme. Among the portraits from Manet’s brush, the figures of his talented contemporaries stand out. In one of the pictures, the artist captured the famous Spanish dancer Rosita Mauri, who performed successfully on stages in Barcelona, Milan, and Paris. The painting is unique in its reserved color scheme, in which dark coloring plays a significant role. Using this approach, the artist conveyed the model’s sophisticated glamour and Spanish grace.
