The folder was specifically designed in the famous jewelry workshop of Ivan Khlebnikov — this is evidenced by the marks remaining on the silver decoration.
The monogram of Nicholas II is on the imperial mantle in the left part of the folder. At the bottom, there is a drawing depicting the first Cossack regalia granted by Catherine the Great. Among them, there is a gilded saltshaker and a dish for the ceremony of welcoming guests with ‘bread-and-salt’. Also, there are timpani and the trumpets of St. George, which at that time served as a reward for valor in battles. The upper part features six military banners St. George typical for the reign of Nicholas I and Alexander II.
Next to the images of regalia, there is a figure of a Cossack escort, who is dressed in the uniform of the second half of the 19th century. On the right, you can see two more banners of St. George with monograms of Catherine II and Emperor Paul I. In the bottom right part of the folder, you can see seven Cossacks dressed in the uniform of the Kuban and the Black Sea Host.
The 200th anniversary of the Kuban Cossack Host was celebrated in Yekaterinodar with much enthusiasm for several days. Several members of the imperial family, honored guests from the Military Ministry, representatives from all the Cossack villages of Kuban were invited to the celebrations. The Kuban Cossack Host received about 200 congratulatory telegrams — from Grand Dukes George Mikhailovich and Mikhail Nikolaevich, military units, Cossack village societies, newspaper editorial offices, and individuals. All of them were published in the Kuban Regional Gazette.
In honor of the anniversary, a memorial obelisk was built in the capital of the Kuban region. In the 1930s, it was destroyed, but now the monument has been restored — it is located near the Theater Square in Krasnodar.
