Sergey Yurievich Chebotar is a graphic artist, painter, teacher, member of the Union of Artists of Russia (since 1984), winner of the Murmansk Region Administration Prize for achievements in the field of professional skills.
Born on June 25, 1956 in Murmansk. Graduated from the Kazan Art College named after N.I. Feshin in 1976.
Sergey Chebotar is a participant of regional, all-Russian, and international exhibitions. His works were on display at exhibitions in the USA, Holland, and Scandinavian countries. The paintings are housed in the collections of the Murmansk Regional Art Museum, the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the RSFSR, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, in institutions and organizations of Murmansk, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
From 1992 to 1993, Sergey Yurievich Chebotar headed the Murmansk branch of the All-Russian creative public organization “The Union of Artists of Russia.” Since 1981, he has been teaching at the Children’s Art School of Murmansk.
The main themes of the artist’s work are the cityscape and townspeople, his family, the favorite places near Lipetsk, where the family spends their holidays. The artist often paints winter views of Murmansk. The painter’s picturesque works are distinguished by the accuracy of the compositional and color system, rich colors, casualness and emotional freedom in the solution of creative tasks.
