Poet Viktor Bryukhovetsky won the Governor’s Literary Award named after Robert Rozhdestvensky in 2014. It was awarded for his collection of poems “Selected writings”, that is now housed in the museum collection. The award ceremony was held in the village of Kosikha, the native village of Rozhdestvensky, where the literary festival Rozhdestvensky Regional Readings has been held since 2007.
Viktor Bryukhovetsky was born in 1945 — same year as Rozhdestvensky, in Altai Krai. He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Aviation and worked at the Institute of Applied Chemistry. Bryukhovetsky’s first poetic book “Father’s House” was published in 1983. After that, he published several more poetry collections: “And tenderness will fill the soul” (1991), “Second Breath” (1993), “Over the candle”s narrow flame " (1996), “I will not return” (2000), “The Golden Ratio” (2003), “Let’s pass over the imminent abyss” (2011). Bryukhovetsky dedicated many of his poems to his homeland (Aleysk), the Russian village imagery, and the rural way of life:
