The album presented in the exhibition is dedicated to the members of the Council of the Union Communist Party of the Churapchinsky District Committee, editors of the newspaper “Socialism Suola”, translated as “The Path of Socialism”, in the years between 1931 and 1951.

On January 18, 1931, the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Bolshevik Party issued a resolution to expand the newspaper system in the districts. The Yakutsk government organized two district printing houses: in the village of Churapcha and in the town of Vilyuysk.

In July 1931, the first industrial printing enterprise was organized in Churapcha. A party member, Pyotr Gogolev, was appointed editor. Semyon Yakovlev — Erilik Eristin, head of the education and health department of the district council, became the executive secretary.

In October 1931, the team of eight people published the first issue of the newspaper “The Path of Socialism”, a publication of the district committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, the district executive committee and the district organization of trade unions. The publication was issued every five days with a circulation of 2,000 copies, which was later reduced to 1,500 copies.

On July 13, 1940, the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks issued a decree “On District Newspapers”, where it was noted that the publication was to be based on the materials of workers and rural correspondents, Party and Soviet activists, as well as on the letters of workers. The task of the staff of the district newspapers was to attract the most active people of the district to write for the newspapers, as well as to work on attracting and educating the workers and rural correspondents.

During the Great Patriotic War, the circulation of the newspaper dropped to 350 copies. The size of the newspaper also decreased too. Short notes, letters from the front, and TASS news were printed.

On January 21, 1958, the newspaper began to be published twice a week on four pages. With the expanded staff, the work on large materials did not cause much difficulty, the newspaper became more comprehensive, and the appearance of the publication changed. The delegates of the district party conference proposed the idea of renaming the newspaper “Path of Socialism” to “Sana Olokh”, meaning “New Life”.

The editorial office and printing house of the newspaper for the Churapchinsky, Amginsky, Tattinsky districts and for the Ust-Maysky state farm were all centralized in Churapcha. Between 1954 and 1962 Konfey Kolesov, a well-known and experienced journalist of the republic, was the editor, and Pavel Prokopyev was the director of the printing house. The first issue of the newspaper “New Life” with a circulation of 3600 copies was published on June 1, 1962. The newspaper was published three times a week on one printed page.
