Arkady Petrovich Gaidar worked for the Perm newspaper “Zvezda” from November 1925 to January 1927.

In February 1926, he was added to the staff. During this time, the newspaper published four of his novellas, thirteen short stories, twelve essays, and 115 feuilletons.

After marrying Lia Solomyanskaya in 1925, Gaidar moved from the editorial commune to his wife’s home at 37 Kommunisticheskaya Street.

One by one, his feuilletons were published in the newspaper: “The Story of the Elusive Ticket, ” “The Magic Word, ” “On a Dark Night” — Gaidar’s name quickly became popular in the city.

In just over a year of living in Perm, Arkady Golikov mastered the feuilleton genre, learned to write, and began publishing novellas. In April 1926, “In the Days of Defeats and Victories” was released; in May, “Life for Nothing” (Lbovshchina); and in June, “R.V.S.” (Revolutionary Military Council). Several short stories were also written and included in the collection “The Corner House.”
