The ‘Alla Golubova’ portrait from the collection of the Valuy Museum of History and Art was painted by Grigory Gritchin, an artist and scene-designer.

After the war, Grigory Gritchin worked in scenic painting, easel graphics, and painting. Lev Blyaknitzki, Alexey Tyurin, Ivan Chernyshev, Evgeny Savotchenko were among them. Soon, the members of the union began to hold exhibitions.
Alexander Mamontov and Marat Parakhnenko, graduates of the Kharkov State Art Institute, came to Belgorod in 1962. With their active participation, the city opened a children’s school of art, and later — an art studio for adults. A disorganized group of Belgorod artists ended up being in Kursk searching for professional creative contacts. There they joined the active exhibition life. In 1963, the Organization Bureau started its activity for establishing the Belgorod Branch of the Artists’ Union chaired by Mamontov.
In 1991, Grigory Gritchin became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. His works are kept in A. A. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum, in museums of the Belgorod region, and in private collections in Russia and abroad. Gritchin died in Belgorod in 1995.
On the ‘Alla Golubova’ canvas, created in 1994, Grigory Gritchin depicted a slender young woman against the backdrop of the 19th century’s theatrical scenery, dressed in a pantsuit with a feather boa wrapped around her shoulders. According to the artist, he tried to show the beauty of a young girl, but with the theatrical experience of an actress. Grigory Gritchin especially portrayed her outside of the theatrical image and makeup.
In 1994, the Belgorod Branch of the Artists’ Union of the RSFSR transferred the canvas to the Fund of the Valuy Museum of History and Art.
