From the collection of the Valuy Museum of History and Art, the exposition includes the best paintings and graphic works created by Soviet and Russian artists.
Among them, there are paintings by Honored Artists of the USSR and RSFSR Semyon Chuikov, Efrem Zverkov, Yevgenia Adamova, Yuri Pimenov and many other artists. Most of the canvases on display belong to Alexander Ignatiev, the founder of the Valuy Museum of History and Art, People’s artist of the Kyrgyz SSR, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Art. He created about 100 works on the theme of the Great Patriotic War and the historical past of his home town of Valuyki. It was Ignatiev’s paintings that marked the beginning of the Museum’s exposition.
