The collection of paintings and graphics in the Primorye Museum includes pictures by artists from all over the Arkhangelsk region. Most of them are landscape paintings: the museum guests can see northern forests, ancient churches, the White Sea coast, and the outskirts of fishing villages on the picturesque canvases.
There are also graphic works by Ekaterina Sedacheva. She creates fantastic pictures based on Pomor traditions, legends, and tales. In addition, Sedacheva illustrates books by local prose writers and poets. The museum houses her illustration of Stepan Pisakhov’s fairy tale “Orange.”
The museum’s collection also houses paintings on an unusual material, that is birch bark. The natural irregularities of the bark became part of the exhibition: tree trunks, mountain slopes, and ravines.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
