The Primorye Arts and Crafts Museum opened in the village of Uyemsky in the Arkhangelsk Oblast in April 1992. Since its first exhibition halls were small, it was impossible to accommodate all the exhibits there. That is why 12 years later, in May 2004, the museum moved to a larger building.
Now the exhibition occupies four halls. A large part of the Primorye Arts and Crafts Museum collection is devoted to the culture and daily life of the Pomors, and to their occupations: fishing, hunting, harvesting wood resin, and extracting salt. Currently, the museum specializes in the study and preservation of crafts traditional for the Primorsky region, and also conducts research on customs and rituals associated with the White Sea crafts.

In addition, the museum displays a collection of paintings created by artists of Arkhangelsk Oblast in different genres and techniques.
