The Large sitting room exposition seems to have been frozen at the turn of the late 19th — early 20th centuries. Presented by Vladimir Matveev, a descendant of the Aksakovs, an exquisite Thonet furniture neighbors a noble Schröder piano, and next to an electric lamp of the early 20th century stands a bookcase filled with pre-revolutionary books in English and French, showcasing the expressive contrasts of noblemen’s houses of that time. This picturesque hall is devoted to the writer’s granddaughter Olga Aksakova, but the numerous historical photos presented here reveal her entire family tree. There is evidence that the desk in the ‘Large sitting room’ was once the workplace of Olga Grigorievna.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
