The Aksakov family Museum is located in the village of Nadezhdino, where the great Russian writer, public figure and theater critic Sergey Timofeevich Aksakov lived with his family in their family estate from 1821 to 1826. The old manor did not survive to this day, but the recreated house not only embodies the collective image of a Russian noble’s home, but also creates a sequential exhibition space of four halls. In these halls, different periods of Sergey Aksakov’s life are intertwined with the fates of other descendants of the noble lineage of the Aksakovs, and the story of the family estate is retold, supported by the difficult, yet fascinating history of Russia.
