The exhibition “Ugra Heritage” of the Museum of the Ob River, a structural subdivision of the Museum Complex, tells us about the history of the Salym Region — the modern Nefteyugansk District. The first settlers came here in the Neolithic Period. There are ancient tools and the first ceramics among the exhibits. Bronze items and weapons of the beginning of the era, medieval household items represent the subsequent history.
The ethnographic section of the exhibition introduces the traditional culture of the indigenous population — the Khanty. Here, one can see tools for fishing and hunting, national clothes, a dugout boat, as well as a copy of the ancient sanctuary of Ai-ega-iki on Maly Salym with wooden sculptures of spirits guarding the territory, according to the legend.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
