The museum’s permanent exhibition presents a generalized image of large shops and retail shops located on the main street of Tyumen in the late 19th — early 20th century. Locals and visitors could stop by the establishment of the Kolokolnikov merchants, Altshuller’s watch shop, Moiseeva’s hat shop, Vorobeichikova’s shoe shop, Overstein’s ready-made dress shop and Sheshukova’s “Viennese Chic”.
Tea trade played one of the most important roles in the business ventures of the Kolokolnikov family. There are several showcases dedicated to this drink. Tea was directly imported from China, as well as oriental curiosities that can be seen in one of the showcases.
Portraits of the representatives of the Kolokolnikov dynasty adorn the walls of the museum. Some showcases feature photos of their real estate and branded packaging for tea.
Thus, the range of items presented in the exhibition introduces the viewer to the family history of one of the largest Tyumen tea merchants and gives them an idea of the variety of goods sold in local stores during the late 19th — early 20th century.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
