“Sergei Eisenstein”s study” memorial exhibit can be found on the third floor of the Film Museum at VDNKh. The building where the director used to live was demolished a long time ago. But the main items from his apartment, the books from his library, classic prints hanging on his walls, and other important items were preserved, and with their help, the rooms of Eisenstein’s home were recreated.
Museum exhibition comprises several distinct areas. ‘Riga’ and ‘Petrograd’ areas inform the visitor about Sergei Eisenstein’s parents, his childhood, and adolescence. “Study, ” “Library, ” and “Bedroom” areas recreate the corresponding rooms within the director’s apartment in the now-demolished block built for Mosfilm employees on Potylikha, where Eisenstein resided from 1935 to 1948. The final area, ‘Art, ” is located on a staircase. Movie posters and unique fragments of the chronicle depicting Eisenstein throughout his life can be found in that part of the exhibit.
