The exhibition ‘Taiga, lake, steppe…’ is a permanent exhibition of the Buryatia Nature Museum, which tells about the diversity of the animal and plant world of the region. More than 400 exhibits are located on an area of 200 square meters. Birds and mammals, minerals and plants, ancient fossils and unique species, i.e. all the nature of the Republic is collected here. Visitors to the museum can study it in an interactive format surrounded by the sounds of the taiga, the scent of pine needles, and the lapping of waves.
One of the most popular exhibits, i.e. layout of Lake Baikal, shows the topography of the bottom and the coastal zone of the lake. In addition, modern animation technologies allow the visitors to see the change of seasons and wind direction on the layout. The final part of the exhibition is dedicated to eco-habits and eco-volunteering.
