The exhibition History of the First Russian Art School Founded by Alexander Stupin (first half of the 19th century) in the History and Art Museum of the city of Arzamas is dedicated to the first provincial art school in the country, which was established in 1802 by teacher and painter Alexander Stupin.
The exhibits include works by famous graduates of the Arzamas Art School, including Rafail Stupin, Nikolay Alexeev, Vasily Rayev, Pavel Vedenetsky, Nikolay Rachkov, Vasily Perov, and other artists. Visitors will be able to see their paintings and graphic works, as well as Alexander Stupin’s personal belongings: furniture, a cup, a writing set, a jug, and other items.
