The Belyavsky House, built in the 1880s specifically for a pharmacy, existed as such until 2011. This is one of the few buildings in the city that has preserved both the layout and fragments of the interior.
In 2014, the permanent exhibition ‘Old Tula Pharmacy’ was opened here. It introduces visitors to the history of the construction of an old mansion and the biography of its owners.
Here one can see the recreated pharmacy environment of the 19th century, learn the secrets of pharmacy and chemistry and even look at a real shod flea. The exhibition presents authentic rarities: medical instruments, devices, pharmacy utensils, packaging, write-on labels, and nameplates of Ferdinand Belyavsky’s pharmacy, as well as replicas of prescription books and copies of archival photos.
