The exhibition “Masterpieces of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum” includes 40 of the most significant works from the museum collection — the largest art collection in Siberia and the Far East. The exhibits include icons, Russian art of the 19th — 20th centuries, works of Western European masters. The works are on permanent display in two museum buildings in the city center.
The exhibition shows the history of the development of Russian painting from the Old Russian to the Soviet period. There you can see the works of Ilya Repin, Ivan Shishkin, Alexei Savrasov, Ivan Aivazovsky and other famous painters. The collection of Western European art includes the works of Dutch and Flemish artists.
