The exhibition includes paintings and graphic works of portrait, landscape and everyday life styles by Russian and foreign artists. A significant part of the exposition consists of portraits of Zaraysk merchants made by unknown provincial painters in the 19th century.
Gems of the collection are the canvases that are part of the old family portrait gallery founded by Prince Alexander Mikhailovich Golitsyn in the last decades of the 18th — early 19th centuries.
The exposition is complemented by objects of decorative and applied art of the 18th — early 19th centuries, allowing to get acquainted with the life of noble estates and merchant houses.
