The gallery’s permanent exposition presents masterpieces of Russian art of the 16th — early 20th centuries. Museum visitors are able to see exquisite portraits by Fyodor Rokotov, Orest Kiprensky, Vasily Tropinin and Valentin Serov, large-scale paintings by Vasily Polenov, Vladimir Makovsky, Isaac Levitan and Ivan Shishkin.
A separate exhibition hall is dedicated to seascapes, the central place in which is occupied by Sunrise on the Black Sea, a picture by the famous marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky.
The exhibition also includes a number of works by prominent representatives of Russian avant-garde: Pyotr Konchalovsky, Robert Falk, Marc Chagall and Vassily Kandinsky.
