The history section introduces exhibits and documents that reflect the uniqueness of this city in the Ural region. Zlatoust appeared thanks to the construction of an ironworks near the Ay River, which later served as a resource and technological base for the establishment of the world-famous Zlatoust Arms Factory.
The exhibition presents a clear chronology and sheds light not only on the contribution that Zlatoust enterprises made to the development of the country but also those who brought glory to their native city.
The museum displays products of armorers and craftsmen: blades, cuirasses, and gun barrels. It also features some historical documents: the decree of the Empress, award certificates, a poster for the city’s first cinema show, and personal items of Boris Mikhailovich Shaposhnikov. The exhibition is based on unique and authentic exhibits which reflect the lifestyle of Zlatoust residents, achievements and development of the enterprises, and those major changes that the city underwent during the Revolution and wars.
